Handheld GPS, whats the best one??
My husband is getting ready to deploy to Iraq and wants to buy a GPS system to take with him. I dont know anything about them, nothing at all. I just want to know which is the best kind for him to use being in Iraq and here in the states?? Also I would like to keep a budget in mind, hopefully not spending over $300. - Hi! I got my husband a garmin forerunner while he was in Iraq, he loved it! I got it at www.dickssportinggoods.com, it was under $100 two years ago; you could probably find an even better model for cheaper now. It depends on what you will be using it for too, the ones that show maps are a little more expensive. Make sure you check the PX/BX/Clothing place on post/base first, some sell these behind the check out or in a locked case at a much cheaper price than online or at the local sporting goods store. Also check www.aafes.com (Army and airforce exchange service). Just search the site for garmin once you have a user name, lots of choices come up and many in your price range. Good luck!
