2. I have the Garmin eTrex Legend C. I bought it for about $350.00 and i love it. You can pay a bit extra for the Garmin eTrex Vista C and it comes with a built in compass but its really not worth it. You can find northy without a compass with the Legend. Both are sunlight readabe, color displays, water-proof to 30m, and shock resistant. I absolutly love mine. Check it out at www.Garmin.com . Whatever you buy, make sure it is WAAS enabled. It helps alot.
