What is a good handheld GPS for around $200.?
I was really looking at the Magellan Explorist 500. If anyone has a thought on this please let me know.

- check out radio shack. i like the one i have from them.
- The Mio 310x. I bought one a couple months ago for the exact price you mentioned and I couldn't be more happy. It grabs the gps signal very fast and the routes are excellent. Mio will also be releasing the map update in the next month or two.
- If you want my honest opinion. The Magellan is probably the best easy to use and easy to maintain. I've dropped so many magellan in my car, I'm surprised it hasn't broken yet. But like all handheld GPS.. You'll spend a bundle on the map upgrade software. I haven't found any handheld unit that offers free map upgrade. I'm guessing this is the only way for GPS companies to make profit. My latest attempt at GPS is just buying a PDA and install the GPS software so I don't end up with a particular model of GPS/software that I have to shell up $100+ to upgrade. Currently, I have DELL x50v AXIM running IGuidance software. It works flawless and I'm very happy with the software.
